Sending Cores to Southeast Chevy Parts: Key Guidelines

Ready to send your core back to us? Great! Here's some advice to make sure it goes smoothly.

1. Drain All Fluid from Parts

Due to EPA regulations on hazardous materials, it’s critical that any parts containing fluid (e.g., master cylinders, power steering pumps, carburetors) are completely drained before shipping.

2. Double-Bag Fluid-Exposed Parts

Wrap these items in two plastic bags for extra protection, which helps prevent any fluid leaks and avoids potential issues with EPA confiscations.

Example: A carburetor once arrived with fuel still inside, resulting in a leak, EPA seizure, and a year-long wait to retrieve it.

3. Securely Wrap and Pad Parts

Proper cushioning with bubble wrap or packing peanuts protects parts from damage during transit.

  • Moldings: Use a PVC pipe or heavy-duty cardboard container for shipping. A one-by-two strap on the molding inside the box provides added protection.

4. Include Your Contact Information

Be sure to place a note inside the box with your name and contact details. If you’ve already purchased an item, include a copy of the invoice so we can promptly process your return or exchange.
